Timothy O'Rourke

Timothy O'Rourke, b. 27 July 1947 in Parsons, Kansas, dsp 29 May 1994.
He is the son of John Joseph O'ROURKE and Loretta Frances CARR.
His connection to the Maryland Catholics on the Frontier is through his
maternal grandmother, Grace Magdalen MOORE, who m. Michael
Timothy CARR.
Tim's project of studying his family began as a high school
English assignment. He was to trace his family history as part of an
autobiography. His final product a 950 page volume contains not only
linked genealogies, but many anecdotes, pictures and even some wills.
This is a quote from p. 94, of his sec. edition, 1980:
"Timothy J. O'Rourke was valedictorian of the class of 1965, St. Patrick
High School, Parsons, KS ...and received a scholarship to Rockhurst
College in Kansas City, MO, from which he was graduated in 1970 with
an A.B. in History. He served as president of Corcoran Residence Hall
and president of the Collegiate Young Republicans... The author was
included in 'Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities' in 1970.
He was employed in 1970 with Trans World Airlines as a flight purser on
international flights, [(mine) it is probably while he flew international
that he did some studying of family lines in England.] and since 1971
has been in the field of education as a teacher of English and Spanish
at St. Patrick High School, Parsons, KS, and a teacher of French,
Spanish and History at Colegio San Antonio Abad, Humacao, Puerto
Rico. Presently he is a graduate student at Kansas State College,
Pittsburg, KS, completing work on the Master of Arts in History. He
is presently employed as a staff assistant with Student Services as
KSCP." Then in the early 80s he worked for FOX in California.
